Nov 2008 - We returned to Ottawa to work on some shots of the newly renovated Montfort Hospital for Stantec Architecture
Oct 2008 - The Genentech Booth for CFAA was in Philadephia this year. I was due to leave the day after the world series game. Bad weather postponed the game and cancelled many flights. I got one of the last available hotel rooms in the area. Oct 2008 - We spent a week in Windsor working on images for the Caesars Casino for OLG. The recently renovated site now includes a 26 floor Hotel along with Conference Rooms and a 5000 seat theatre. Sept 2008 - The Cityscapes show was in NYC this year. I flew in on Sept 11 and stayed in a small hotel in Chinatown. My 7th floor room looked directly on the Manhattan Bridge. There were light beams shining up from ground zero. July 2008 - (PRHC) Peterborough Regional Health Centre designed by Stantec opened several areas after 4 years of planning and construction. |
Nov 2008 - Toronto Magazine wanted to run some recent photos of 5 historic properties which appears in the Jan 09 issue. Here is what heritage architecture looks like today.

Typology is the study of types, and a photographic typology is a suite of images or related forms, shot in a consistent, repetative manner; to be fully understood, the images must be viewed as a complete series. Kristine McKenna, "Photo Visions", Los Angeles Times, 29 Dec 1991.
July 2009 - Ice Huts will be showing at Toronto Image Works Gallery - 80 Spadina Ave, second floor, until September 5, 2009. 24 Ice Huts from 2007, 2008, 2009 will be on display in both 31x31 and 20 x 20 sizes. All prints are framed. Feb 2009 - Ice Huts will be showing at the Rotunda Gallery in Kitchener City Hall this Feb 2009. There will be new additions to the series, shot during the 2008 season, with some colourful Quebequois huts and some from as far as PEI. Aug 2008 - It was a summer of spectacle celebrating Quebec City's 400th anniversary. Despite all of the festivities, I concentrate on early dwellings in the old upper city area. The steep sloping, narrow streets create playful exterior fascades. Form follows function here as doors intersect sidewalks, shaping a visual language that I could not ignore. See Quebec 400 in a few days, here. May 2008 - Ice Huts wins FIRST place award at the Contact Portfolio Review. Out of more than 85 entries reviewed by a panel of 30 renowned curators, art dealers, directors and photo editors, Ice Huts was selected as the HP Jury Prize winner. View winning portfolio. 2004, 2005, 2006 - Photo-A-Day - 1095 Images of daily entries for 3 consecutive years. Connecting family; it began as a link to daily life in Toronto while our eldest was attending University in Halifax. The Gallery is open by appointment only these days as I am travelling a lot and am unable to commit to regular hours of operation. Call us at 416-755-7742 if you want to come in to see prints.
